The Irish Sports Council (ISC)

The Irish Sports Council (ISC) is a statutory authority and was established in 1999, under the Irish Sports Council Act. It is made up of 8 divisions:

  • Anti-Doping
  • Corporate Services
  • Finance
  • High Performance
  • Local Sports Partnerships
  • National Governing Bodies
  • National Trails Office, and the
  • Irish Institute of Sport.

IMAC is appointed by the ISC to be a National Governing Body for Martial Arts in Ireland. You can view the ISC's website by clicking on the following link.


Coaching Ireland

Coaching Ireland operates within the context of the policies of the Irish Sports Council (ISC) and the agency Sport Northern Ireland. Coaching Ireland works in partnership with 60 National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) in order to achieve the following objectives:

  • Raise the standard, status and profile of coaching in Ireland to provide performers and participants with the best quality coaching through their involvement in sport.
  • Lead the development of coaching in Ireland through the implementation of a quality coach and tutor education and support programme.
  • Work in partnership with NGBs and the wider sporting sector on an all island basis.

IMAC is a National Governing Body for Martial Arts in Ireland, as appointed by the Irish Sports Council.
