The Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC) is a national governing body for martial arts in Ireland, recognised by Sport Ireland. IMAC is made up of over 400 clubs from a variety of competitive and non-competitive martial arts, Aikido, Taekwon-Do, Kickboxing, Karate, Kendo, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Jodo, Iaido, Wing Tsun, Lau Gar, Tang Soo Do, Muay Thai and Sambo. 

IMAC provides programmes for members on Safeguarding, Anti-Doping, Coach Education, High-Performance training, Inclusion and many other areas important to martial arts instructors, coaches and practitioners in Ireland.

IMAC leads the way for martial arts in Ireland, all IMAC coaches are garda-vetted, first aid trained and have completed  the appropriate IMAC coach-education training. IMAC provides a quality mark to members of the public as well as state agencies.

Let’s Get Back - to Martial Arts!

Sport Ireland in partnership with Healthy Ireland have launched ‘Let’s Get Back’, a national awareness campaign encouraging the Irish public to get back involved in the sport and exercise that they love. As a Sport Ireland recognised National Governing Body for Sport, the Irish Martial Arts Commission are proud to take our part in this campaign and encourage people of all ages to return to martial arts or to take up martial arts for the first time. Be it competitive, non-competitive, children or adult, there is something for everyone in martial arts.
